Our Sponsored Programs

We provide fun monthly entertainment programs for children and their parents at the Library on the first Saturday of every month.
We fund free passes for individuals and families to popular New York and New Jersey museums.
We offer Spring, Fall, and Winter 10-week classes with tutors in conversational English for adults interested in strengthening their English language skills.
We have a bookstore in the lower level of the Library and sell gently used books — from children's books, to biographies, to mysteries, to cookbooks, to classics, to self-help — to help fund these programs.
Hoboken Oral History Project
Friends of the Hoboken Public Library and the Hoboken Historical Museum initiated this project in 2000 to capture, through the recollections of longtime residents, the working-class identity and tradition of multi-ethnic living that has been disappearing as Hoboken has gentrified. These stories have been turned into a series of chapbooks.
—A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
“'We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?' asked Piglet.
'Even longer,' Pooh answered.”
